The Code of Practice

To assist in improving and maintaining good relations with clients a Code of Practice for insurance companies has been established. Full details of the code are available the Code of Practice website

The Code, among other things, sets out a procedure for the resolution of claims disputes.

  • If you do not agree with the settlement of your claim
    You should discuss the settlement decision with the representative of the insurance company who handled your claim.

  • If the claim is not resolved to your satisfaction
    The insurance company's Claims Manager will be pleased to receive your call to review the case with you.

  • If you do not agree with the Claims Manager's decision
    The Disputes Resolution Committee will review the claim at no cost to you. This service is normally completed within fifteen business days.
